Mandinka

So I don't think I've gotten over my Timbiriche high yet. LOL. But one thing I forgot to mention in my last post, was that while we were at the show I kept thinking to myself the back-up singer looks really familiar to me...

So I look inside the tour book at the credits (mind you I got the last 2 they were selling) and sure enough it was María Urtuzuástegui, the former lead singer of Luna Limón. I wrote a blurb about LL once upon a time and she somehow found my blog and signed my guest book!!!. My 2 friends had backstage passes and I asked him to tell her that she had a fan that wanted to meet her, but alas it didn't happen. Anyhoo I just thought it was a real cool tidbit that I forgot to share.

In other news my boo boo just scored amazing tickets for Sunday's Sinead O'Connor concert!!! I've never seen her in concert, but I think she is an amazing vocalist and can not wait to experience her live. I'm hoping she does this song:

Or I would love to hear her version of this song. Remember how hot she looked in the video?? Don't get me wrong she's beautiful, but when she's all glammed up...wowser!

So I can just take a moment and bitch about the weather. Last week it was so nice out, in the 50s and all of the sudden this week it's been like 80 everyday! WTF!!!!! How can you be so cruel Mother Nature????

America's Top Model premiered last night! I love it!!!! I am not going to try and predict a winner (because I am always wrong...except for Jaslene). But I must say I realy really like Heather. She's kinda weird looking, but there is something I like about her.

I also really like Ebony (as does Chava), and Jenah.

But you know what I love most about Top Model coming back??? The recaps that Rich does over at fourfour. In case you have never read his blog and you are a fan of the show, read his recaps of past seasons...they are hilarious!!!! High-larious!!! Ok peeps I gotta go...as Vanessa Williams once said...I got work to do...I got a job baby!.

So soon

Sorry I haven't been bloggin' lately. Work has been busy this past week. As some of you may or may not know, last Monday someone tried to break into our apartment. I won't go into details as my boo boo has already done so. Luckily no one was hurt as someone was home when this occurred. So we spent the majority of the week cotemplating whether or not we are going to renew our lease when it's up next. Personally I hate moving, but under the current circumstances...it's totally worth it. Our safety and well being outweighs the hassle of packing. As I type this, I was just outside walking our dog when I saw this man run out of someone's home only to see one of my neighbors run after him. Turns out this guy broke into their home while they were there. Sound familiar? 2 break-ins in one week! WTF? So I'm going to be looking for something in the immediate future, hopefully something a little more secure. If I had the money I would totally buy my own place, but unfortunately that's not going to happen anytime soon.

On a lighter note this is the first time I ever picked the winner for America's Next Top Model! I am so excited that our little cha cha tranny won! LOL! GO Jaslene!

When I found out she was from Chicago I was joking that she must be from Humbolt Park because she was so trashy...well I was right! Loves it!

There was something else I was gonna write about but I am drawing a blank. Sorry.

Star

Yes I'm alive. I've just been über busy at work and haven't had much time to blog lately. Sorry to the few that actually read this :)

So what have I been doing? Not much really. We attempted to spend a weekend home in Milwaukee last weekend but w/ a pending snowstorm in both IL and WI we only spent one night there. We had a mini reunion w/ some of my cousins:

We went to some new Mexican place in Bay View named Maya Riviera. It was alright. It's nice that they are fixing that area up. When I lived there the only trendy neighborhood if you will was the East Side. Good for them I say. I ran into someone from grade school there which was odd because I met out a friend from grade school who's sister used to date my cousin later on for a drink. Ok that was a mouthful.

Anyhoo though our visit was short it was nice seeing everyone.

I am currently reading Star by Pamela Anderson. Yes the fake boobies Baywatch Pam Anderson. I know I like trashy books but this one is too funny, and not in an on-purpose sort of way. I almost done w/ it. It's about a girl from a small town in FL who ends up becoming an overnight sensation after appearing on the cover of MANN magazine. I'll let you fill in the rest. I guess I can't complain, it keeps me occupied on the train. Speaking of the train, don't get me started on the lackluster service the Blue Line has been having lately. That'll be another post. Back to books...I know I've asked before, but if anyone has any good suggestions on what to read let me know. I love fiction, and biographies if it's someone really trashy. LOL. The last two books I read before this one were Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld which was a great read on the life in boarding school.

I also just read this:

I love me some Janice Dickinson! Too bad she's no long on America's Next Top Model.

Speaking of can we talk about how excited I am that Cycle 8 has started???!! I have to say my favorite thus far is a girl who didn't make the final 12 (or is it 13) from Cycle 7...but she made it back for this one. Even though I think she's a total tranny, her walk is fierce and her picture was amazing! She looks a lot like Janice if I must say. Ladies & Gentlemen, Jaslene:

Knowing my track record, I've never predicted a winner. All the ones I like always end up being in the top 5 but that's as close as I've gotten. I must say I've been happy w/ the last few winners. Danielle and Cari Dee. Love them!

OKies I must head out. Thanks for stopping by.
