Pau Pau

The following are some pics from the Chicago show that I borrowed from the lovely Emilio. I wonder how he snuck in his camera? Hmmm...BTW her dancer...holy shit! He was hot. He's in the second photo (he's the first dancer) and the last one was him shakin his ass! Damn! He pulled down his pants and his package...dios' mío!! He's from Puerto Rico. What do you expect? I swear he smuggled the entire island down there. LOL. Ok the pics for your enjoyment. Thanks Emilio!

The show was fun. The Milwaukee Sister and I always have a blast and having Frank along for the fun was a plus. We couldn't stop swooning over this skinhead-esque guy in front of us. Oh no! He was a hottie. But he smelled. Fuchis!! Now the show...it was fun. She was horrible as usual (vocally) but it was fun and I loved the clips they had on the big screens. Now my one major complaint was the lack of pre-2000 Paulina Rubio songs. She did do a mini acoustic set where she took requests from the audience. Luckily for us she did Amor de mujer. Eddie and I were gonna demand a refund should she have not sung it. It was fun, but all the new queens kept looking at us like we were on crack as we squeeled w/ joy and I even busted out w/ the choreography. Hello I used to watch SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO religiously! It's not my fault they only know "Lo haré por ti" Paulina and beyond. Silly queens must be educated. Before she was all heroin chick looking there was bad bleach big eyebrow paulina! LOL...

The opening act was ok, Alih Jey. I only knew her one semi-hit, It's Ok.Anyhoo...it was fagville of course. The show was a late one, and I was so tired the next day. I guess I can't hang how I used to. That's ok though.

This weekend will be a drunk-fest as my favorite alcoholic cousins Mari & Gina are coming, along w/ Sylvia and Jesus (aka Paty). We plan on having sangría for lunch @ Café Ibérico and margaritas for dinner @ Puebla. Yay! Can't wait! Have a safe weekend everyone. XOXO.

Uff!

I've been trying to write for the last few days, but work has been keeping me busy. What can I expect it's a job. I'm kind of in a funk right now cause I am bored to death of my job, I am having no luck finding another and I have bills up the ass to pay. On a brighter note the CDs I bought in Mexico to sell on ebay did very well! I think I paid $40 maybe for all of them (if that) and I got a whopping $120!! I am using that money to pay off bills. So at least some good has come.

I meant to post these pics ages ago but never got around to it. Kelly Tsoula Doukas was in town and her and Marlene came over for dinner along w/ Weenie's baby Milo. Ooooh! Kelly I want those pics from Alethya's bday outing and any other ones u took (ooooh and slutty greek boy pics!!!!). I know u read this, so I am sorry I didn't get to say goodbye before I left for Mexico. It was crazy departure. Sorry. I hope u still love me. Enough mushy stuff...here are some pics. First is Rob and Chus and Milo. What fun it was having 2 dogs in the house. The second is Kelly on my Gazelle. It was fun. She had her first meatloaf ever! Gasp!

Anyhoo...I have to tell you all about my new musical obsession! The other weekend I went to Lola's w/ my Milwaukee Sister, José and Rob. Afterwards we went to Berlin. Hadn't been there in awhile. Forgot how much I loved the place, even though it's always too crowded. Not to mention all the scary trannies that hang out there. Anyhoo...they always play really fun music, lots of electroclash like Peaches, etc. So this song comes on and the first line is Do I look like a slut? Uh huh. So what. The song was absolutely hilarious and it reminded me a dirtier Fannypack (whose new album I still have yet to buy...GASP!). After some searching Rob found it and the song is by this duo called Avenue D. Needless to say it's become one of my most-played songs...until I heard (rather saw) this! OMG...it is the fucking funniest thing I have ever heard in my life. Über raunchy...and oh so funny. You'll be singing along for days. I am so ordering their cd! Besides anyone who claims their musical influences range from new wave to freestlye, to Cyndi Lauper to Jem and the Holograms are way beyond cool in my book! Please come to Chicago!

So I already emailed Glennys (congrats again on ur new baby Dali!), Meiver and Patty about this...but one of my favorite shopping finds in Mexico was ex-Fobia lead singer Leonardo de Lozanne's second flop album Turistas. What a shame it flopped! It was so much better than his debut flop cd....do we see a pattern here? This CD is already long out-of-print and I was so lucky to find a copy in the discount bin in Torreón. I wanted to share w/ you all one of my fave songs from the album...MUJER DE LOS 80s. Enjoy!

BTW I am going to see Paulina Rubio tonight w/ my Milwaukee Sister. I've seen her twice alreay (once when she was promoting PLANETA PAULINA and on her last US tour). God she's awful, but she's my favortie bad singer as I've mentioned time and time again. I can't get enough of her. I better wear noca-repellent...as I am sure there'll be lots of 'em at tonight's show. Rumor has it she is not doing that much material from her EMI days. I hope that's not true. I miss her olden days w/ her big eyebrows and bleach blond hair. Sigh.

VIP

I've been meaning to write more and share some pics, but I've actually been *gasp* busy at work! LOL! That sucks. Last thing you want to do when you come back from vacation is work.

Like I said before I bought Rob a shitload of cd's in Mexico. Probably around 20 or so...

Mostly his menapausal divas, but the look on his face when he got them all was priceless! BTW my suitcase finally showed up Tuesday morning. The majority of these were in there. Other than all my CD shopping...I called Rob every night while I was there. Needless to say I went through a lot of these phone cards. Too bad they only lasted about 10 minutes. I guess that's what 50 pesos gets you:

I did manage to pick up about 10 or so CDs for myself as well. You'll see in the middle Ari Borovoy, which I had to purchase 3 copies. One for me, one for Rob and one for my Milwaukee Sister! It's awful, but who cares...he's fuckin' hot!!!

So while I was at the hotel, I knew I had to try and catch some episodes of Big Brother VIP. Normally I wouldn't care about this show, which places has-beens and C-list celebs in the VIP version of this popular show. I had to watch cause my girl Sasha Sökol is one of the habitants! It was so addicting. I hope she actually wins! God knows she can use the exposure. Her last CD was just barely released in Mexico. It's excellent, check it out!

So last night we decided to give Chus a haircut. He has so many knots, I was too embarassed to take him in. Rob did an excellent job! He looks adorable! He was cooperative for the most part. I'll post some pics later. Apparently I am on call this weekend should any major help be needed. Let's hope not! I'm looking forward to staying in and relaxing w/ my babies. It will be nice.

Did you catch last night's finale of America's Next Top Model? I can't believe Naima won! I'm sorry but she was too cocky, and I thought there were so many other girls who were better than her. Plus she looks too much like J-Lo, so that automatically makes me dislike her. LOL! I think fabu Brittany should have won. Oh well. That's all for now. Take care everyone!

Lost

Well I surived my week in Durango. I say survive because it was torture being w/out Rob (and Chus). Sure it was fun going CD shopping, etc., but it wasn't the same. Needless to say I am so glad to be back.

Believe it or not I hardly took any pictures while there. My batteries were dead, and I didn't have time to charge them. So I used my Dad's camera to take some pics...but I found out that my Mom left the camera w/ him. Uff! Oh well.

I did tons of CD shopping!! I had a list from Rob, plus stuff I wanted, stuff for my Milwaukee Sister, and crap I bought to sell on ebay :) I really didn't buy anything for my friends, just my coworkers. Unfortunately the majority of this stuff is in my suitcase which was LOST by the airline. Fortunately before I could bitch them out they had it already flagged in their system that my bag was on it's way! Woo hoo! So I should have it by 7pm.

I hope everything's in there! I don't even remember what I all bought. Off the top of my head Jeanette Chao, María Barracuda, Ari Borovoy, Betty, Sasha Sökol (the Mexican edition of Por un amor) and the regular and deluxe Mexican editions of Fangoria's Arquitectura efímera and God knows what else!

I am happy to back home in Chicago. I missed all the drama at work while I was away. Thank God! Everyone worked last weekend and this past weekend. Good time to be out of the country. Lol. Enough chitter chatter...I have some thank you cardsd to write!

Estoy vivo...

I have not had a chance to write but I just wanted to say hi and that I am alive and I will be back in Chicago tomorrow (Sunday). I miss Rob and Chus like crazy!!!! It's unexplainable. Love you all. Will catch up on blogs when I get back. Muaaaaa....

Volver

I have been extremely swamped at work. Trying to get everything done before I leave. So I was not able to post at all this week.

Sunday was Chus's birthday :) He's 1!! My baby is 1!!! He still needs a proper celebration (like he really cares, he's fine just being w/ us...but I care) but we did take him to the dog park. It was fun. He was so cute trying to chase some of the bigger dogs. Here's a pic from the outing :)

I have to share some exciting news. Pedro Almodóvar has just announced that his next film we star none other than Carmen Maura!! Carmen is my favorite Chica Almodóvar and apparently she and Pedro had a falling out in the 80s and haven't worked together since Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios. The new film is called VOLVER and is in pre-production. To read more about the film (that also stars Penelope Cruz) you can read this article from Terra Spain. You know what the other great thing about this film is?? It also stars Chus Lampreave!! She's so cute!! Plus she's Chus's namsake.

Like I said work was driving me crazy and I'm kind of at a crossroads trying to figure out what my next career move is. Once I figure it out I will let you know.

So I've been having a lot of weird dreams lately. Over the past few weeks I had a dream that my friend at work died of a drug overdose, that some woman punched my mother in the nose (and I in turn beat her up), that my old childhood friend kept getting aroused everytime he was near me (????) and God knows what else! Is that werid??? What do all these dreams mean???

So tomorrow I leave for Durango. I have not even packed and I had a major scare this week. I couldn't find my passport! Technically you can get by w/ your birth certificate. But I have no idea where that is right now, and I would have had to have gone to Milwaukee to go get it! Luckily for me Rob remembered where I used to keep it and it was still there. Needless to say I am gonna miss him terribly. I hope the time goes by fast. I am gonna miss Chus too :( Wish I could write more, but I can't. So I leave you w/ a message featuring, imo, the most beautiful Mexican actress ever to grace the silver screen (and she's from...gasp...Durango!!!)...Dolores Del Rio:
